Description

The Matrix Audio TT-1 and NT-1 are dedicated audio streaming sources with optimized digital outputs.
Users must use their own digital-to-analog converters, with compatibility for almost all DA converters available for connection to the NT-1 and TT-1. What’s more, Matrix Audio has integrated advanced technology into these models, including the functionality of the MA Remote application.
The newly launched M Series illustrates Matrix Audio’s commitment to high-end audio excellence, with its initials clearly displayed on the chassis top plate.
Featuring an aesthetic perforation pattern for efficient cooling and a large touchscreen, the M Series sets a benchmark for future audio products, characterized by exceptional quality and distinctive design.
Every aspect, from the connection experience to control interaction and sound quality, is meticulously designed.
The designers have ensured that this design philosophy is also reflected in the TT-1 and NT-1 models.

The TT-1 and NT-1 Streaming Audio Transport models represent a return to a more compact and affordable design within the M series range.
Among these models, the Matrix Audio TT-1 is the entry-level option, priced at €2,249.
Measuring 28 centimeters wide, the TT-1 matches the dimensions of Matrix Audio’s SS-1 Audio Grade network switch. The “T” in the model designation indicates the start of a new product line, which Matrix Audio plans to expand with other items featuring the same elegant design.
As previously mentioned, the TT-1 functions as a music streamer equipped only with digital outputs, including Coaxial (RCA), Optical (Toslink), and AES/EBU, as well as a dedicated USB-DAC output and an IIS-LVDS output using an HDMI connector.
This last feature is particularly interesting when combined with a Matrix Audio DAC featuring an IIS-LVDS input, as the I2S audio connection provides the shortest possible signal path directly to the DAC chip.

The Matrix Audio NT-1 is positioned in a high-end category, with a recommended retail price of 4,899 euros.
The “N” in the model designation indicates the introduction of additional products in this range.
In terms of dimensions, the NT-1 has a shoulder width of 33 centimeters, similar to that of the Matrix Audio SS-1 Pro Audio Grade network switch.
This slightly larger size accommodates an improved linear power supply, giving the NT-1 a more stable base for digital signal processing.

Like the TT-1, the NT-1 has five digital outputs: Coaxial (RCA), Optical (Toslink), and AES/EBU, as well as a dedicated USB-DAC output and an IIS-LVDS output.
In addition, it features two USB ports for connecting external CD players or storage devices, and music can be stored directly on the optional SSD drive at the bottom of the unit.
Like the TT-1, the NT-1 features a well-integrated WiFi antenna and RJ-45 network connection.
The special feature of the NT-1 is its SFP port, which provides a fiber-optic network connection that enhances value by enabling complete electrical isolation of the audio source from the network.
The manufacturer claims that this feature contributes to a more serene listening experience, free from asperities in the musical flow.
Matrix Audio’s SS-1 and SS-1 Pro network switches also feature the same SFP connection.
So even if your home network relies solely on a copper RJ-45 connection, you can still benefit from optimum isolation.
To further satisfy audiophiles, the NT-1 includes a connection for an external clock.
Using this 10 MHz clock input bypasses the NT-1’s internal clock, improving the critical time reference for all digital signal processing.
Recognizing the importance of synchronization, there’s no need to search long and hard for the ideal clock, as Matrix Audio has designed the ideal companion for this purpose in the readily available SC-1.
