Description

Activate streaming for your audio system
MATRIX AUDIO – element S is Matrix Audio’s first music streamer with USB DAC outputs. It makes it easy to activate audio streaming functionality for your current audio system.
Element S has many digital output ports, not limited to USB, suitable for a variety of obsolete DACs. It’s an indispensable audio streaming upgrade device in your system, helping you enter the world of streaming audio.
MATRIX AUDIO - element S

MA drive
MA Player is a high-quality digital audio playback/streaming control system independently developed by Matrix Audio for its music streamers. With MA Player, users can control audio devices on the network via mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, and browse and play music from network players or USB storage devices.
In addition, MA Player has integrated streaming technologies such as Roon Ready, DLNA/UPnP, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect and TIDAL Connect, enabling you to enjoy high-resolution audio streaming over the local network.

Sound quality is the essential element of a DAC
Featuring ESS’s latest ES9039Q2M D/A chip, carefully tuned audio circuitry, high-quality audio components and optimized circuit layout, it boasts a very high signal-to-noise ratio and extremely low distortion, offering excellent performance for a variety of music types.

Matrix Audio’s user interface and interaction in the spotlight
The element S is equipped with a high-resolution 3.46″ touchscreen featuring Matrix Audio’s user interface and interaction, enabling you to operate the device easily and understand its status precisely. When music is streaming, metadata, including album art, album name, track title and artist, is also displayed. This gives you greater control over music information and a better music-listening experience.
USB DAC interface
The USB DAC interface is a digital audio interface that surpasses traditional ports such as optical and coaxial. It transmits high-resolution PCM or DSD audio data perfectly to audio devices. Thanks to this interface, DACs with USB input can be connected to the S-element, enabling quick and easy online and local audio streaming for your existing audio system. The USB DAC interface features an ultra-low-noise 5V/1A power supply output. The power supply is processed by a multi-stage low-noise linear regulator and a power supply filter circuit before being fed to the USB device, to ensure better device performance.

Dual-frequency femtosecond clock
The S-element is equipped with two Accusilicon ultra-low phase noise femtosecond clocks, which operate at 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz respectively, and their multiples of the sampling rate as a reference clock source. An FPGA coordinates the clocks and manages the frequencies. This ensures high-quality digital sound with low jitter, and presents the most fantastic detail in music.

MA Remote application
The MA Remote app is developed by Matrix Audio and is available for iPhone, iPad or Android phones. With these devices, you can browse and play high-resolution online audio files from TIDAL, Qobuz and HIGHRESAUDIO, listen to Internet radio stations, adjust all hardware settings, check and install new firmware for your mini-i 4.

Gigabit Ethernet and dual-band Wi-Fi
Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections are available for the S element. Gigabit Ethernet guarantees the stability and speed of high-resolution audio transmission over the network. If you have good Wi-Fi coverage, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi connections are also good options. Get rid of the network cable, the integrated antenna gives the element S a simpler, tidier look.

S/PDIF outputs
The element S features high-quality S/PDIF signal output capabilities for use with various DACs. Thanks to optical, coaxial and AES/EBU ports, it supports PCM 24-bit/192 kHz audio output, or 1-bit/DSD64 audio output using the DoP method.
IIS-LVDS output
The S element’s IIS-LVDS output supports 32-bit/768 kHz PCM and 1-bit/DSD512 digital audio. To be compatible with more DACs, we’ve provided 4 types of IIS-LVDS pin definition and 2 MCLK modes on this port, which can be configured via the MA Remote application. In addition, the IIS-LVDS features an electrical isolation design, with the ground wire of the front and rear devices separated, to prevent noise being carried over the ground wire.
USB audio port
When a computer, smartphone or tablet is connected via the USB audio input, Element S turns these devices into digital turntables. High-quality digital audio signals are sent to the end devices via this port. The digital audio output supports up to 32Bit/768kHz PCM and 1Bit/DSD512. HID is also supported by the USB audio connection, allowing you to control playback of the playback software via the device’s touch button.
