A recent label from Holland, Turtle Records has established itself as an outstanding sound recordist. Some exhibitors at CES in Las Vegas and other Hifi shows in general use these discs for their demonstrations, and we have to admit that the extreme quality of the sound seduced us just as much as the rich and varied musical content. Several of the discs are already hits, and you’ll find the famous “Dean Peer” from this little label, which we’ll be talking about for a long time to come… After an attempt at DVD Audio, Turtle has definitely turned to SACD, which seems to be more in vogue at the moment, offering three different types of media: stereo CD, stereo SACD and multi-channel SACD on the same disc. The sleeve is as stylish and complete as ever, accompanied by a booklet in French and a detailed description of the sound recording.
