Audeze LCD-X high-fidelity headphones are open circumaural models featuring two Planar Magnetic transducers. These are mounted in a polished, anodized aluminum shell, with the rear of the transducer free to “breathe” through a large black metal grille. The American engineers have equipped each transducer with a kind of waveguide materialized by a finned grid, the Fazor technology, which optimizes the diffusion of sound flow towards the ears. The result is optimized phase response, more extended frequency response, smoother listening and three-dimensional, almost holographic spatialization. On the underside, each earpiece features a gold-plated mini-XLR connector for the detachable Y-cable. The large, soft, enveloping earcups are covered in extremely supple, soft-touch lambskin leather. The shell supports are articulated and feature an independent adjustment system at the junction with the headband. The headband is fully padded and covered in black leather.

Supplied in a rigid, foam-lined carrying case, the Audeze LCD-X headphones seduce with their sober, elegant lines. Two cables are supplied with these Audeze headphones, one terminating in a 6.35 mm jack connector, the other in an XLR connector, as well as a 6.35 mm jack to 3.5 mm mini-jack adapter.

Once fitted, the Audeze LCD-X headset is comfortable to wear and well-balanced, despite weighing in at 600 grams. The wide earcups are ideally positioned around the auricles, without exerting excessive pressure on the skull. When you listen to them, you’ll hear the specific qualities of orthodynamic headphones, with a warm, extremely detailed sound that’s free from distortion. Bass is firm, lively and generous. Vocals are very well defined, and treble is extremely precise.
