In order to offer a power supply worthy of the name, the Forester FX relies on proven and reworked technologies: high-efficiency toroidal transformer, fully symmetrical circuit structure, parallel low-noise MOSFETs and an EMI filter.

The FORESTER FX uses a CNC-machined aluminum chassis to reduce the vibrations created by the transformer. The chassis is also brushed, for an exemplary finish.

High-efficiency toroidal transformer

The transformer’s toroidal structure drastically reduces the space and weight normally occupied by the chassis.

The contribution of a toroidal transformer is also undeniable: the permeability is much more pronounced than with a laminated structure, offering increased conductivity and better channelling of electricity. What’s more, energy savings are such that no-load consumption is barely 10%.

Balanced circuit

One of the biggest advantages of the FX is its symmetrical design: it virtually eliminates background noise. It also allows greater precision in current stability, and thus avoids any voltage drop.

Low-noise MOSFET

The MOSFET (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor) is a vital component in the Forester FX’s efficient control of output voltage. In general, low-voltage power supplies prefer BJTs (Biploar Junction Transistor), for their contained price and relative performance.

Silent Angel has made the choice to offer the best possible experience, and therefore offers choice components, including the MOSFET.

The MOSFET’s less complex design allows greater frequency variation than with BJTs, resulting in a more precise and stable output voltage.
