Description
Many of you have been familiar with this label for many years. These twenty-five years of working off the beaten track, both artistically and technically, have been rewarded with twenty years of success and awards around the world.
The philosophy behind Référence Recordings is simple: to reproduce as closely as possible the musical performance as performed at the time of recording. A goal long since abandoned by the world’s production majors, but quite common to some of the publishers featured in this import catalog. The result: unprecedented sound quality of classic recordings, as if you were at a concert!
Reference Recordings has gone so far as to develop a 20-bit High Definition coding system known as HDCD. This process, adopted by the majority of manufacturers, guarantees the highest sound quality, whatever your CD player.
If your player or converter is equipped with an HDCD filter, you’ll benefit fully from owning HDCD-encoded CDs.
Reference Recordings was the first publisher to record in 24 Bit 88.2kHz. The discs concerned are listed. Some CDs are available in a “direct burn” version, a process that simply eliminates all the steps between performance and CD burning. These will soon be collectors’ items.
